OVERALL OBJECTIVES:
The Head of Operations will lead PCAS’s operational functions of the business, ensuring a high quality, cost effective service that is innovative and responsive to the needs of clients. They will work closely with the Senior Management Team to improve the quality, safety and experience of the support provided to our clients. The Head of Operations will provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the operational functions of the business.
You will have extensive experience in an operational leadership role within Social Care working at board level or high performance at the level below board.
You will have a Degree, or equivalent level of relevant qualification to the role.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
1. To develop and manage agreed strategic objectives of the operational team.
2. Maintain an awareness of local and national initiatives that would enhance the service provided by PCAS and support team members to manage, implement and evaluate change in delivery plans.
3. Manage the governance process as required ensuring: inclusion of all relevant stakeholders; compliance with policies and procedures; and consistency with the principals and regulations set out by commissioners and regulatory organisations.
4. Work closely with other senior and local managers across PCAS to ensure strong learning links are made across relevant support areas.
5. Provide coordination, expertise and reporting to relevant internal and external bodies, working groups and forums.
6. To ensure a co-ordinated and effective approach to communications, establishing professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and agencies including primary care, secondary care, third sector, public health, housing and the local authorities.
7. Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to by the team, supporting the team to prepare budgets and monitor specific performance within the areas of responsibility taking account of strategic developments and efficiency targets.
8. Ensure that the confidentiality of personal information remains secure in line with organisational policy and the Data Protection Act 1998.
9. Recognise the diversity of the populations and the norms of socially acceptable interventions, and working to achieve equity of access and culturally appropriate services.
10. To manage a budget and ensure that operational growth targets are met or exceeded and costs are controlled and managed to maximise efficiency.
11. To promote and maintain excellence in customer service at every interaction both internally and externally.
12. To develop and maintain the company culture, ensuring high standards of professionalism and collaborative working between operational areas.
