Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Finance and Operations Manger to work in close partnership with the Executive Head, Chief Finance Officer and Headteachers within our trust.
This is a full time role for 52 weeks per year. Kent Pay Range 8 (£28,598.00-£32,333.00) based on experience. The job is based at both Allington Primary School and Barming Primary School and you will be required to split your working week between the two sites.
Experience of working within an education Operations and /or finance environment would be beneficial, as will experience within another financial or business environment.
The Trust Finance and Operations Manager is part of the Trust Business Administration team, assisting the Chief Finance Officer to ensure the Trust complies with the appropriate legislation and reporting requirements.
A rewarding role, the main areas of focus will include:
- Ensuring the Trust meets its educational needs through excellent and robust business functions
- To take responsibility for the development and organisation of financial processes within the Trust to benefit student learning and teacher efficiency, whilst ensuring value for money in all areas
- To actively model and promote the values and ethos of the Trust
- To ensure compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook in all areas of Trust finance and Estate Management.
- Support the CFO with all areas of financial reporting
- To supervise the smooth running of the Payroll function across the Trust
- Contract management; ensuring the Trust achieves value for money in all purchases
- Management of the Trust Finance and Administration team
- Working with the CFO, Executive Headteacher and Headteachers in identifying opportunities for generating additional income and submitting funding bids either Trust wide or for Academy specific
- Oversee capital project management
- Health and Safety responsibilities including Risk Assessments, monitoring, measuring and reporting of health and safety issues.

This role is key to the continued success of the trust and the successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, focused and extremely capable with excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
