Operations Manager

The Native Women’s Centre (NWC) provides a secure, empowering environment for women and children fleeing domestic violence and for women suffering from homelessness, addiction or human trafficking.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for data input using Sage 50 Accounting, supervision of all aspects of general accounting and day to day operations of the organization
- Provide operational support to the Executive Director as needed in the day to day operations of the organization with a strong emphasis on financial management;
- Act as the primary onsite contact for all matters relating to the employee leasing service for the purposes of payroll, human resources management/functions, employee onboarding, etc.
- Act as the payroll and benefits administrator and liaise with these vendors as needed;
- Report to the Executive Director on a regular basis regarding company status against, and ability to meet, its strategic and operational objectives in a timely fashion;
- Collect and analyze cost data versus budget for ascertaining financial performance and risk assessment for the agency;
- Informs the Executive Director and Board of Directors of financial forecasting pertaining to performance, risk assessment of the operating budget;
- Develop, monitor and enforce policies and procedures, budgeting, forecasting, and project tracking;
- Arrange and financially prepare for audit, HST submission, charitable tax submission reporting;
- Provide administrative assistance in support of fundraising initiatives to support goals and strategies of the NWC;
- Manage contacts including key donors, funders and stakeholders;
- Provide support and guidance using a trauma-informed perspective
Qualifications:
- College diploma in Business Administration, or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible experience;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within a small to medium organization working in financial/administration capacity; dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management;
- Advanced proficiency with Sage 50 accounting software and spreadsheet programs, excel, power point applications;
- Have knowledge and/or experience with Indigenous culture, practices, and traditions
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, judgment, reasoning, discretion and execution skills;
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and employees.
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks
Working Conditions:
- Travel will be required;
- Ability to create, and conduct presentations for prospective funders;
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals;
- Flexible hours will be required as needed;
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team;
- Ability to manage time and stress effectively;
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
