Job Specification
The Job You’ll Do;
- Responsible for 2 x Manufacturing Managers who report directly, with Shift Managers reporting in and then Zone Leaders to Operators.
- Offer knowledge and expertise to maximise efficiency, build engagement and support growth.
- Manage the Assembly and Maintenance departments, to ensure KPIs are met, and processes run smoothly.
- Resolve issues quickly and effectively, liaising with department managers as well as the Plant Director.
- Lead the start of shift meetings.
- Attend weekly management meetings to review and discuss KPI’s.
- Take advantage of the abundance of experience within Senior Management to drive company performance and implement improvements.
- Manage the maintenance team, which includes 3 Supervisors and a team of 30 in total (across Senior Technicians and Technicians).
- Modernise the maintenance department with regards to culture and outlook.
- Help to foster a positive improvement mindset through maintenance.
About You;
- A highly experienced Operations Manager with extensive previous experience gained in high volume manufacturing environment.
- Significant track record in driving improvement through their teams to impact plant performance, the successful candidate should have experience in managing multi-disciplines.
- A passionate belief in a positive safety culture.
- A strong resilient character with the ability to challenge and influence effectively, but also coach, support, and mentor their teams to reach their full potential.
- Well-developed communication skills to give confidence to the Plant Director, whilst being able to talk easily to explain priorities to operators on the shop floor whilst holding the team to account.
- A passionate interest in people. A desire to really get to know the team at all levels, will ensure the loyal and committed team but also demonstrating the ability to create a one team approach to delivering high quality product on time in full to customers.
- Someone who is commercially minded, who can understand how to impact plant performance and profitability through people.
- A positive and pro-active approach, to bring fresh ideas and to enable the site to continue to improve performance.
