Operations Manager

Due to our growth, we are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager within Warehousing, Logistics & Distribution to help drive high performance within our distribution centre. Reporting into the Head of Operations, this is a key leadership role within our business and a superb opportunity for to take a step forward in your career whilst working for a rapidly growing business.

You will manage a team of approximately 30 staff (including an Operations Supervisor, Stock Controller and Returns Controller) and play a critical role in ensuring the efficient, accurate and cost-effective fulfilment of our Ecommerce (DTC) and Trade/Wholesale sales channels, as well as overseeing stock control and returns process.

Your Responsibilities will be to:

· Deputise for the Head of Operations, attending business meetings at all levels and serving as the direct operations contact internally and externally.

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day order fulfilment operations across our Ecom and Trade/Wholesale sales channels within our busy Distribution Centre.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, workflow, inventory, and efficiency through the development and implementation of effective strategies.
  • Analyse and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, returns, and inventory to all levels of the business.
  • Set and communicate business expectations through weekly meetings with the team, and be responsible for hiring, developing, and managing staff, including performance management, disciplinaries, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Coordinate and manage the team with high moral integrity, making tough but fair and reasonable people-related decisions.
  • Be target driven, setting and achieving daily/monthly business targets, and providing clear reporting on progress.
  • Focus on stock integrity, ensuring consistently accurate inventory levels and adhering to FIFO (First in First out) principles at all times.
  • Collaborate closely with the Ecom and Trade/Wholesale sales teams to understand sales forecasts, staffing requirements, operational space, and technology needs for peak planning.
  • Fully committed to delivering a successful peak period (Oct - Jan), going the extra mile, and putting in additional hours during this period.
  • Maintain customer compliance and exceed customer expectations through close coordination with the Ecom and Trade/Wholesale sales teams.
  • Monitor and maintain fulfillment performance metrics such as UPH (Units per Hour), AUO (Average Units per Order), and Time to Ship, and provide regular analysis and reporting.
  • Strive for service excellence, making the customer the primary focus, and ensure compliance with legal, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Required skills:

  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional understanding of finances, supply chain, workflow, and staffing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage all aspects of HR administration in relation to team management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional listening skills.
  • Presentable and able to represent the brand at all times.
