Operations Manager | Argyll, Scotland | Office based | Full Time (40 hours) | £29,000 to £35,000 depending on experience.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will ensure the line managers along with their teams consistently meet a high level of guest satisfaction, by ensuring the operation of quality standards throughout the resort, and for guests to have an excellent experience in all properties, leisure facilities, club buildings, grounds and to consistently improve on any weaknesses.

You will be responsible for the full management and compliance of the club’s Health and safety policy, and H&S executive legal requirements by managing and being supported by an outsourced business safe team.

You will manage/oversee all leisure facilities including the management of the pool, pool plant, gym, and pool staff.

Hours of work

You will work 5 days a week, including weekend working on a rota basis. Working days are usually 8 paid hours and this includes one hour for a lunch break.

Your role will include, but not be limited to

  • Ensuring there is an efficient and effective communications procedure across all departments of the business.
  • Ensuring the consistent implementation and review of standard operating procedures within each department
  • Assuming responsibility to deal with all operational queries, complaints or problems that arise across the resort.
  • Carrying out regular inspections of all departments in the areas of guest service delivery, including cleanliness, presentation, employee presentation i.e., uniform, and general grooming
  • Ensuring all maintenance issues are dealt with promptly by overseeing response times etc.
  • Working with the Estate Manager and CEO to monitor and develop maintenance budgets including areas in the resort where large investments are required.
  • Overseeing and developing the Housekeepers to ensure they feel supported and encouraged to build on the culture of teamwork and collaboration between all teams.
  • Ensuring all pool and leisure staff and activities conform to the club’s Health & Safety policy.
  • Management of the Health and Safety system in line with Club policy
  • Ensuring all line Managers are responsible for complying with H & S requirements and are correctly managed by them and their teams.
  • Writing risk assessments for all areas of the business
  • Conducting regular Fire walks and targeted H&S audits
  • Ensuring COSSH details are up to date.
  • Optimising Profits by controlling costs, managing, and working to budgets and finding new revenue streams requirements.
  • Conducting regular operations meetings with all line managers to discuss routine operation matters, departmental performance, and guest feedback.
  • Promoting a positive employee relations culture through effective team meetings and communication
  • Deputising for the CEO in their absence at various meetings and events regarding operation issues within the community
