Job Title: Operations Manager
Salary: £12 per hour
Hours of work: 35 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays
Reporting to: CEO
Place of work: Various locations across Wirral and North Wales, and some working from home
Job Description:
Working alongside the CEO of Jackson’s Animal Rescue, you’ll be trained in all vital roles in managing this very busy animal rescue. No two days will be the same, as you will learn to cover shifts in any of our four charity shops, our two rescue sites, and you’ll be heavily involved in the management and development of the charity. The role will involve management of our Wildlife Centre on the Wirral, that has a team of two staff members, and approx 30 volunteers. You’ll also cover staff holidays across our domestic animal rescue in North Wales that’s home to over 100 animals at any one time, and across our four charity shops in Shotton, Wrexham, Moreton and Hoylake. You will also have the opportunity to assist with fundraising events, grant writing, social media management, and charity growth and development. We are seeking a pro-active and enthusiastic animal lover, who will enjoy the variety of this role. Full training will be provided
Duties Include
o Overall management of the Wildlife Centre, Wirral
o Running shifts at a busy wildlife rescue that can admit up to 15 hedgehogs per day
o Treating hedgehogs for various injuries and diseases as per vet instructions
o Managing staff and volunteers
o Stock control
o Holiday cover at Jackson’s Place, Mold
o Running shifts at a busy domestic pet rescue
o Admitting animals that have been surrendered by owners
o Completing adoptions
o Taking animals to vets
o Holiday cover across four charity shops
o Assisting with the opening of new charity shops
o Assisting with grant writing and proposals
o Administration work
o Assisting with management of a very busy email inbox
o Updating website
o Charity development
o Planning and attending fundraising events
o Bucket collecting in cities and at events
o Dog shows
o Summer Fairs
o Recruiting volunteers to fundraise
o Finding new opportunities for the charity to fundraise
o Social media management
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
o Driving license and use of a car for business purposes (milage to be reimbursed)
o Animal Lover
o Management experience
Desirable Criteria
o Experience working hands-on with animals
o Social Media experience
o Previous employment within a charity
