This position is based within Instron’s European Operations Department and will be located at our European headquarters in High Wycombe, UK.
Job purpose
This role has responsibility for the execution of all Manufacturing operations-related activities for Low Force (LF) Dynamic Systems products. You will be responsible for a multi-disciplinary team ensuring growth and profitability goals of the business are met.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Support the Dynamic Systems Business to set and review the wide performance objectives, budgets, and operating procedures to efficiently deliver the Manufacturing operations Long-range plans and Strategy of the DS business.
- Act as advisor to the Dynamic Systems business on timelines, internal resource and outsourcing allocation and changes required, risks and feasibility of future opportunities.
- Oversees the day-to-day Manufacturing operations, including LF operation, LF custom, Customer experience engineering, Inventory, Warehouse & packing.
- Supports monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals with appropriate scheduling practices and shipment analysis.
- Coordinates production resources to meet customer delivery dates.
- Ownership of operational reporting ensuring alignment to operations strategy
- Engage in identifying and strategizing projects while actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supports continuous improvement engineering to drive improvements for current product in efficiency, cost reduction or business continuity
- Drives operational, engineering and project management activities across the low force business to continue to drive efficiency improvements.
- Oversees inventory management for business ensuring compliance with ITW regulations and targets
- Serves as voice of quality in manufacturing and support quality efforts.
- Ensures that systems and procedures are up-to-date, well-documented, and reflective of current practices in support of ISO 9001.
- Enforces safety regulations, and in general, promotes safe conduct to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. Re-enforces the need for a safe workplace daily.
- Develop and maintain an appropriate departmental organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.
- Develop and operate budgets and capital expenditure plans.
- Mentor and support development of team members.
- Lead continuous improvement to process, procedure, documentation, and implementation.
