Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) pilots are a new area for the NHS and InHealth making it an exciting time to be involved. In this role you will help to ensure that the services we provide to our patients are of the highest possible standard. Responsible for the running of a number of TLHC programmes across a geographic patch; working with commissioners, sub-contractors and internal stakeholders and departments to ensure the TLHC programmes in your remit are delivering on all of their key performance indicators and quality metrics.
Operations Manager for the TLHC service is a challenging and hugely rewarding role in a new but rapidly developing area of healthcare in England.
This would be an ideal role for someone with an operational background who is keen to ‘get stuck in’ and have a positive impact on the health of the population nationally.
Key Duties
Operations:
- Liaising with InHealth CT mobile units, Mobile Planning, Transport, Procurement, Legal, I.T., Finance and Radiographer departments over scheduling, locations, reporting and new contracts
- Help to set up and account manage subsidiary services such as subcontracted Reporting and Artificial Intelligence software provision, Nurses, waste collection, water delivery and collection, security, and cleaning including manging the schedules of collections/deliveries
- Work with project managers and internal stakeholders to find, assess and set up new mobile CT locations and nurse clinic rooms (when required)
- Manage the effective utilisation and deployment of staff and resources to achieve safe, efficient, and patient-centred service delivery
- To work collaboratively with external partners including Commissioners, GPs, Hospital Radiology departments, Smoking Cessation teams and Trust Nursing Teams
- Assisting with the collation of data sets and submission of reports. Ensuring, the Ipsos Mori and other feedback/national data is collated and reported
- Deal with all day to day operational issues that may arise during the running of your programmes, keeping internal and external stakeholders informed of any issues and progress
- Modelling, trajectory planning and review of all programmes under your remit, including scheduling and resource allocation
Compliance
- Ensure awareness of health & safety and infection control (Training will be provided)
- Ensure internal and external quality assurances for IHIs TLHC programmes are complied with and reported on as required
- Aid in the development of Policies, Procedures, SOPs and QMSs to meet internal and external regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Development
- Ensure all patients, carers and others are treated with dignity and respect and that they are listened to, and reasonable requests/adjustments (within policy) are accommodated.
- Attend local and national network events in the field of TLHC / Lung Cancer / Lung Health and identify innovation
- Support tender and sales processes as required
- Leading on specific TLHC projects, strategic improvement and change management processes
Information Technology
- Become an expert level user of Spectra Lung (our own Lung Screening software), IT infrastructure and Laptops in accordance with best practice
- Run demonstrations and training sessions as required for potential customers and new users
- Advising on potential improvements to IHIs software and systems, proposing enhancements to the functionality and specify requirements of any development required
Key Skills & Experience
- Working to and interpreting Policies and Guidance, sharing, advising on and implementing relevant changes as they arise
- Building partnerships and networking with key senior stakeholders
- Working within a fast-paced health care environment
- Managing or operating at a high level within a National Screening programme, healthcare environment or any other relevant industry
- Using evidence to make improvements, seeking out innovation
- Strategic thinking – ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise
- People Management
- Management of subcontracted services and providers
- Desirable to understand lung health/cancer and its complications, along with the lung health check pilot programmes
