Here at GXO we are recruiting for a Transport Operations Manager, based in Snetterton, Norfolk, to manage all the transport related functions for our customer, Kettle Foods. You’ll be directly responsible for ensuring that the transport function operates safely and to our customer’s expectations.
This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 with some flexibility needed, this is logistics after all!
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of between £45,000- £50,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Oversee our fast-paced transport operation, ensuring performance, compliance and the consistent achievement of our customer’s SLAs and KPI’s
- Effectively manage the fleet, compliance, maintenance, and all transport equipment to ensure the optimal utilisation of our route network
- Be responsible for the transport department resource recruitment, induction, assessment and training, including agency staff
- Ensure that the operation is effectively cost-controlled, identifying and implementing operational improvements and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Work closely alongside our customer, understanding their requirements and ensuring that the operation fulfils these
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A proven track record of transport management within a fast-paced distribution environment, with the relevant commercial experience, preferably with open book exposure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
- International CPC holder is essential along with excellent working knowledge of transport compliance, geographic and transport legislation
- The ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team with a real drive for optimisation and continuous improvement
- Excellent people skills
- Project management and presentation skills would be of benefit
