Operations Manager
The role
Coordinates and manages operations within the USV and Remote Working Service Line in Europe. Ensures operational success, quality and efficient working including the implementation of strategies relating to:
- Vessel Operation and Maintenance
- Data acquisition activities
- Recruitment in line with the service lines growth strategy
- Personnel Planning
- Mobilisation and Demobilisation
- eROV and equipment engineering and maintenance
- Operational Health and Safety

Here’s what a typical day would be like:
- Liaising with internal stakeholders on all aspects of project planning and execution
- Ensuring adherence to Fugro’s health and safety requirements
- Liaison with Fugro’s global USV delivery and innovation team and global ROV Asset Team
- Providing line management and weekly project management to base and site USV Engineers
- Management of external supplier relationships
- Implement an operational structure which facilitates efficient and safe remote operations from Fugro’s European USV Fleet
- Provide clear communication of short and long-term operational strategy. Implement a system to facilitate excellent communication across the multiple internal operational departments that need to combine to generate a successful project
- Forward plan for new vessel roll outs and technology upgrades
- Ensure the operational team working onsite, in the workshop and rom the Remote Operating Centre have the correct skill competencies to fulfil their role safely and efficiently
- Understand the performance of the USV on project and the operational team’s performance during mobilisation is a key data gathering area to trace operational success, learn lessons and implement changes
- Act as a key focal point for Fugro’s Global USV innovation and build teams back into the operational region
Who we’re looking for:
Essential
- Bachelor Scientific or Engineering discipline
- Experience in an Operational or Management role
- Project, Operational or Offshore Vessel Management experience within a Superintendent, Maritime or Party Chief role
