We are looking for someone who has had experience of office, business or hospitality management or has a graduate degree or equivalent qualification. Team management, IT and maintenance experience is preferable but not essential.

The Role
Our General Manager is responsible for the everyday running of Forward. The role is key to the success of the business and smooth running of our workspaces. We need a General Manager that is ready to help our Hosts at the drop of a hat and keep everything running in the background too. You are the glue of our great team.
Being the General Manager of Forward is no small task. The role is autonomous but will require you to communicate with our teams and to support Hosts where necessary. You will need to adapt to changes easily and to be ready to help cover buildings at a moment's notice while still being able to manage other buildings and teams remotely. You will have to use your initiative to solve problems and create better processes to help the company progress. You’ll be looking to continually build a strong company culture by supporting our Hosts and working with the rest of the Head Office team. You’ll need to keep everyone motivated by bringing a positive attitude to the team every day. You’ll be able to base yourself at any of our buildings in the South West, but regular travel to each of our workspaces will be expected.
Your role will include, but not be limited to, the following:
General Management
- Daily overview of the business
- Making sure Hosts are doing their jobs to the best of their ability
- Keeping on top of any maintenance issues at each building e.g. leaks, internet outages etc.
- Checking all enquiries are answered
- Answering Host enquiries / helping Hosts with issues
- Managing the Business Rates and Valuations of each building
- Providing building cover where necessary
- Attending weekly HQ meetings
- Run Quarterly Meeting
HR
- Managing Staff Birthdays present, leaving presents etc.
- Drafting role descriptions
- Recruitment
- Manage employee contracts and addendums
- Onboarding and training new employees
- Approve and manage absences and holidays
- Monitor absence and health implications of team members
- Suggest / Encourage Support where required (EAP etc.)
- Manage HR programmes e.g. Peninsula & Bright HR
- Conduct employee reviews and manage performances
- Update employee handbooks
- Manage employee pay structures
- Manage employee benefits
Health and Safety
- Ensure the company is meeting H&S obligations
- Arrange annual building audits (Peninsula)
- Annual review of company Risk Assessments, Statements and Policies
- Communicate all H&S updates to staff
- Conduct training regularly for H&S matters
- Ensure follow up on building audits and reports
- Attend training seminars online as appropriate
- Ensure annual renewal of Company Insurance
Policies and Procedures
- Identify gaps in resources across all buildings
- Travel to all sites - maintaining contact with all staff
- Communicate benefit packages and company policies
- Research, draft and implement company policies and procedures
- Create standardised operational processes and practices within the business
- Members terms and conditions - members handbooks
- Implement and uphold document control and standards
- Review virtual tariff sign ups and processes
- Maintain registrations with HMRC for Anti Money laundering checks
- Liaise with Coherent about projects that are needed for the company
- Arrange Social events for the FS team
The Package
Salary
- £25,000 starting salary
- £32,000 per annum after 6 month probationary period

Pay: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
