Job purpose:
Reporting to Depot General Manager, the purpose of this role is to oversee and review operational processes to ensure depot productivity, cost, quality, and service are met. To develop resources within the depot to create accountability and manage talent and develop succession plans to ensure operational capability is sustainable. This role will work in partnership with other parts of the business to including Hubs and Delivery to ensure an end to end service is met.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- To create and deliver the operations budget and forecast as agreed with the DGM.
- To lead a robust and efficient peak planning process with effective sortation and transportation including parcel shops
- To ensure the warehouse and parcel shop meets operational targets, KPIs, maintains control of the cost base by constantly reviewing operational processes to ensure depot productivity.
- To ensure legal & company compliance is adhered to, the right standards are set to ensure a safe & secure warehouse and parcel shop operation in the depot. This includes ISO accreditation, financial reporting, WTD & AWR Ensuring that all relevant documentation and systems are completed accurately and in line with company and/or legislative requirements.
- To provide leadership to depot warehouse teams, ensuring all colleagues are safe, trained, engaged. Role modelling a high performance and fully accountable management team and depot, Recruit and maintain optimal staffing levels to deliver KPIs, ensuring colleagues are inducted & knowledge gaps identified & develop colleagues within the area of accountability to ensure operational capability is sustainable.
SKILLS/QUALS
- Computer Literate (Advanced Excel mandatory – SQL or Python preferred)
- Level 5 Management Qualification or equivalent
- IOSH Qualification or equivalent
- CPC National certificate or equivalent. (Or commit to obtaining through Evri)
- Problem solving and planning effective contingencies and solutions.
- Experience in 3rd party logistics, transport, and team leadership.
- Demonstrable evidence of achieving operational management of KPI’s and SLA’s.
- Able to work flexibly including ability to cover the operation 24/7

Salary: £42,000.00-£47,000.00 per year
