Operations Manager
4 x Full Time, 35.75 hours per week Fixed Term for 12 months
Locations - Portobello Swim Centre, Ainslie Park Leisure Centre, Royal Commonwealth Pool, Edinburgh International Climbing Arena
We are looking for a forward-thinking, decisive, and confident, individual to take ownership of the diverse and rewarding role the Operations Manager.
On a day-to-day basis you will be:
- Working closely with the facility manager and the management team to ensure the effective functioning of the centre.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating the centre’s daily activities including large-scale sporting events.
- Guiding your team to success, providing support, continuous development, and mentoring to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the annual business plan to maximizing revenue and improve the overall facility performance.
- Communicating and enforcing all health and safety, risk assessments, security regulations and protocols through all services and activities ensuring a safe environment for customers and staff.
You will be responsible for shaping and influencing the business to drive its success, so the following skills are essential.
- You will have extensive experience of working within operations at a management level, preferably in the sports or leisure industry.
- You will be a solution-focused, problem solver with the ability to balance several conflicting projects and have excellent decision-making and judgment capabilities.
- You will demonstrate exceptional organisational, interpersonal, communication, delegation, and leadership skills. You will be able to connect with different parts of the organisation and work efficiently across divergent functions. The ability to engage and connect with others, from a variety of backgrounds and at all organizational levels is essential.
- For roles in any of our venues with a pool you will need to be a strong swimmer and capable of achieving a lifeguard pool qualification. Training will be provided if you do not already hold the qualification.

Royal Commonwealth Pool - Fixed term contract for 10 months, Grade 7, £31,929 per annum
Edinburgh International Climbing Arena - Fixed term contract for 12 months, Grade 7, £31,929 per annum
