Job Description

We are looking for experienced and motivated Operations Managers for our new site in London Docklands. We are looking for Manages who

• Thrive working within a pressured, fast paced and time-bound environment
• Actively manage change both operationally and through process improvement
• Are comfortable work to strict KPI’s including but not exclusive to service level, cost, Health and Safety and productivity.
• The ability to oversee projects and assist in the development of future plans and strategy for your site

DPD operates across 7 days so you will need to be flexible to work 5 shifts from 7 to include weekends. The roles on offer include

Operations Manager - Collection and Delivery

• Responsible for overseeing the management of our self employed Franchise Drivers contracts at Depot level raising any issues to the attention of the franchise department
• To monitor and champion levels of service provided and actively seek and lead improvement activities.
• To manage and continually review the collection and delivery operation in line with the company’s policies and procedures within key measures of performance.
• To manage Business Start training in conjunction with the Regional On Job Trainers to ensure that new Owner Driver Franchisee’s are fully trained
• All aspects of the Sites Fleet ensuring compliance to both Legal legislation and company policy

Operations Manager - Sortation

• To manage all operational procedures in line with company policy.
• To control manpower planning, including recruitment, liaison with agencies, advertising and interviewing and retention of employees. This will include holiday planning, inline with operational requirements.
• To implement and monitor the effectiveness of the Health and Safety policy, ensuring and maintaining a safe working environment.
• To control cost through planning and review of financial reports
• To effectively manage employees through communication, appraisals and training.

About You

You will have experience in a fast paced operation with proven and demonstrable people management experience, involving direct accountability and responsibility for motivating and leading a high performing team. Additionally we would also expect:

• Experience of monitoring performance, with the ability to analyse data in order to identify improvements and successfully implement change.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence strategy.
• Decisive and effective decision-making, problem resolution and time management skills.
• Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation and flexibility.
• Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability.
