Job description
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who loves to drive, enjoys flexibility and being out of the office. This is a self employed position but working as part of a supportive team. The Driver's role is to transport passengers to various locations around the city and surrounding areas. They must maintain a safe driving environment in all weather. A Driver will have experience driving a vehicle for a minimum of two years as well as good communication skills. A Private Hire Licence has to be obtained. This involves having an enhanced DBS, a short driving assessment and a taxi medical. Full support is provided to fulfill these requirements. A clean DVLA licence would be an advantage however some points are acceptable.
Responsibilities:
- Manoeuvre vehicle safely in street and motorway traffic to ensure safe transportation
- Use GPS maps and find unfamiliar destinations.
- Handle cash and contactless payments.
- Drive for extended period of time.
- Meet requirements to obtain a Private Hire Taxi driver's license.
- Drive a taxi cab and ensure it is safe and well maintained.
- Communicate any issues or concerns promptly and effectively
- Be polite and courteous at all times
- Have a clean and smart appearance
- Adhere to the requirements of holding a Private Hire licence established by licencing at Darlington Borough Council.
