Operations Manager Job in Poole

Our well established and growing client in the Poole area are recruiting an Operations Manager to join their tea. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily working of the warehouse operations, which will include planning, directing, and coordinating the warehouse and logistics activities. The Operations Manager will provide support to the operations Director/Operations functions ensuring safety, quality and delivery performance are the key drivers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Oversee distribution, warehousing, badging, and shipping

· Manage warehouse operations by stock control, inventory management and motivating employees

· Managing third party logistics to ensure that we get the best value for money and are continuously offering the highest level of service to our customers

· Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers

· Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements

· Negotiate rates and contracts with, logistics, packaging, and service providers

· Maintain constant communication with colleagues, staff to ensure efficient and effective operations

· Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedure to enhance operational capacities

· Partner with cross functional teams to improve communication and internal procedures

· Lead motivate and support a large team within a time sensitive and demanding environment including career development for direct reports and career resolution

· Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate areas and strive to deliver excellent customer service

· Regularly review and implement as necessary policies and procedures

· Plan for short term and long-term goals by working with Senior Management Team

· Ensure warehouse efficiency and monitor the accuracy of stock inventory

· Coordinate activities that affect operational decision

· Plan, schedule and review workload and manpower to ensure that targets are being met on a cost-effective basis

· Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times and costs

Skills and Experience:

· Prior experience of working in warehousing, distribution, or a fast-paced manufacturing environment

· Intermediate/Advanced Excel user

· Knowledge of lean techniques would be advantageous

· Ability to analyse and manipulate technical and complex data and provide meaningful information

· Proven track of record in meeting tight deadlines and providing resolutions to operational challenges on the go

· Excellent Leadership Qualities

· Experience and understanding of the end-to-end supply chain

· Build and maintain prosperous relationships with employees, internal/external clients, and service providers

· Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development

· Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally

· Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills

· Strong planning skills and the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities

· Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules and customer order fulfilment
