Job description
The National Collaborative Commissioning Unit (NCCU), hosted by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Local Health Board is the collaborative commissioning service of NHS Wales. Our vision is: Leading quality assurance and improvement for NHS Wales through collaborative commissioning and we deliver national commissioning programmes on behalf of a wide range of customers.
The Quality Assurance Improvement Service (QAIS)is a division of the National Collaborative Commissioning Unit that focuses on improving care, quality and value.
The objectives of the division are to:
- Ensure safe, effective and high quality care is delivered that improves patient experience;
- Robustly challenge substandard provider performance;
- Provide oversight, advice and support to improve the quality of care;
- Facilitate collaborative working between providers and commissioners with the patient as the focus of care delivery; and
- Ensure all procured services deliver value for money for the public purse.
The post holder will be a source of operations management and quality assurance and improvement knowledge, providing support to the managers and identified clinical and managerial leads.
The post holder will support the key working groups across Services ensuring that there is join up and collaboration between the teams where appropriate. The post holder will be able to adapt the approach to ensure that Quality Assurance and Improvement Services operations remain on track.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family. Our Health Board provides primary, secondary and community health and wellbeing services to around 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs: Bridgend Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
