We're currently recruiting a dedicated Operations Manager to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a full time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.

The day-to-day management, through a team of supervisors of the South Bristol Community Hospital covering the cleaning, portering and security teams. Planning and delivering an effective and optimum service within allocated resources and budget to the standards agreed in the Service Level Specification.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- To possess good communication skills in order to liaise with a range of staff, both internal and external customers, and to provide and receive information on a range of issues some of which require independent judgement.
- To have the ability to explain technical issues to staff, to assess staff training requirements, and to provide advice, instruction and training.
- To possess detailed knowledge of Portering Services and requirements of the Portering, Waste and Linen Service Level Specifications.
- To possess detailed knowledge of Cleaning services and requirements of the Cleaning Service Level Specifications.
- To possess detailed knowledge of Security services and requirements of the Security Service Level Specifications.
- To possess good team leadership/supervisory skills and an understanding of the different roles and skills of team members.
- Ability to organise the day-to-day work of the Cleaning, Portering & Security Team and adjust as necessary for unplanned absences.
- An ability to make judgements and decisions using own initiative, which may be critical to the effective delivery of services.
- An ability to plan and organise own work including working to agreed targets and objectives, and in unpredictable situations where demands are service led.
- To have an understanding of Health & Safety, Manual Handling, Medical Gas and Infection Control Policies & Procedures, in order to make judgements on compliance and resolve any issues.
- The role will involve concentration for effective delivery of services and a strong ability to work with frequent interruptions and unpredictable situations.
- The role will require the post holder to offer support and guidance to staff, both personal and professional.
- Duties will involve coming into contact with distressed patients/visitors and deceased patients.
