The job
- Overall responsibility for delivery of projects to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements, through effective team management.
- Identify and manage risks to the project budget and timeline, being commercially savvy and capturing margin detriment pro-actively.
- Assume end -end project management responsibility for all major projects.
- Formalise and develop practises, procedures, and processes for effective performance management in a growing and fast paced business division.
- Overall responsibility for the assurance of contract delivery to specified quality standards within the parameters of ITPs, PDs, OPs etc through effective team management.
- Further emphasise and embed QHSE standards in line with company policy and accreditation.
- Actively develop, grow and nurture the existing repairs manager, site supervisors and wider team for long term sustainable success and growth of the business unit
- Recognise opportunities for upsell, additions and further works and champion the Green’s service proposition and placement:
- Confidently be accountable for challenging conversations, i.e., costs/ variations.
- Effective liaison and relationship building with internal stakeholders, from manufacturing, to procurement, to commercial sales teams, to understand and deliver on contractual obligations and internal targets.
- Ensure project staffing levels are met, coordinating internal team members, and overseeing the recruitment process for subcontractors and specific skill requirements.
- Proactively seeking improvements in methodology increasing productivity and efficiency of teams.
- Be a dedicated lead and technical go-to for your internal team and other internal stakeholders.
The person
- Prince2 or equivalent qualification, or willing to work towards with sponsorship.
- Experience in running your own contracts up to the value of £1.5M.
- Excellent organisation skills, to plan the use of people and resources to meet deadlines.
- Strong technical knowledge of boiler service, repair, and installation.
- The ability to monitor and control budgets.
- Good communication and negotiation skills, to manage expectations internally and externally.
- The ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a can-do attitude, always willing to go above and beyond, championing customer service.
- Passionate about people management and the development of people, has attended or is willing to participate actively in management development.
- Proven networker and effective communicator to organically grow revenue
