Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Operations Manager to join our Northampton Schools account. This role is onsite based.
Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the Northampton Schools Private Finance Initiative across an estate of 42 schools (five secondary and 37 primary).
Every day our people help create high-quality learning environments - ensuring they are safe, clean, and compliant for teachers to inspire and where students can gain meaningful skills and qualifications.
We work in partnership with our clients and end-users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of the schools.
The standard hours of work are 40 hours Per Week

You will be responsible for:
- Line management of team across the account
- Client engagement
- Drive performance and delivery of the contract
- Build culture and relationships
- Manage operational performance in accordance with service level agreement
- Be the point of escalation in respect of all customer issues.
- Manage budget and review profit and loss for effective delivery within contractual requirements
- Ability to develop and implement policies and operational systems and procedures
- Provide oversight and direction to the employees within your area by the organisation's policies and procedures
- Manage supply chain to ensure works are carried out on time and in budget
- Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation and Amey Health and Safety Management system. Accountability for H&S culture via delivery of toolbox talks, safety bulletins etc
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Strong people management skills
- Experience with meeting regularly senior clientele
- Understanding of Facilities Management, Compliance and Operations
- Leadership in a fast-paced environment
- Background in Health and safety
- Managing complex/multi- site operations
- Ability to constructively challenge proposed operational and workplace needs to ensure efficient and effective use of resources
- Ability to manage work priorities in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent IT skills
- Holds a full UK Driving Licence
