Job Description Summary

This role reports into the Gate 1 Business Unit Leader and is directly responsible for the operational management of all inspection areas within Gate 1 (Engine Disassembly). The role holder will be managing a large team of both direct and indirect reports and will be accountable for delivery to established KPI's and achieving the strategic priorities of the business area.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage a large operational area in order to reach defined targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.

  • Overall responsibility within the assigned business area for problem solving, waste elimination and productivity improvement using lean principles

  • Ability to hire and develop talent. Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.

  • Utilising in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and/or technical experience to execute strategy.

  • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes. Work across business functions and engage multiple stakeholders as required.

  • Embrace business strategy and information and routinely deliver meaningful messages to the team

  • Deputising for Business Unit Leader as required and acts as escalation point for any complex issues.

Required Qualifications & Characteristics

  • This role requires advanced experience in Manufacturing & Operational Management.

  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Experience in continuous improvement using Lean principles.

  • Effectively role models' the GE Leadership Behaviours
