The AMRC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Lead (AMRC Central) to join our Project Delivery team.
You will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the AMRC’s day-to-day operations across all of the AMRC sites in South Yorkshire, the North West and Wales. The three sites have a total of 13 operational buildings spanning Castings, Composites, Design, Automation and Machining as well as other supporting services. The AMRC has over 450 staff working in multiple engineering and research sectors.
Your primary focus will be on enhancing efficiency, streamlining processes, and ensuring smooth operational workflow across various functions. This is a critical role that requires exceptional leadership, problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills and strategic operation. You will be directly responsible for shop floor operations, maintenance, hospitality and visitor management through either direct line management or through matrix management. The role will also work closely with all seven of the AMRC’s groups as well as the IT, Quality, HR, SH+E and PMO teams across AMG and AMRC to ensure operational strategy is effectively implemented across the AMRC. The role will report directly to the AMRC Project Delivery Director and will be required to act on their behalf occasionally.
For this role, you will have:
- Significant demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex operational support services and processes.
- Ability to design and deliver strategic, operational and change management plans that ensure efficiency and quality of service.
- Experience of effective financial management.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills.
