ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for Supply Chain of a major European Food Manufacturing business.
To be the financial “go-to” business partner for European Supply Chain (€20m+ cost base)- To monitor and control raw material and finished goods inventories (€50m+ balance sheet value)
- To manage and control month-end financial close for Supply Chain and Inventory
- To lead performance improvement projects, focused on inventory scrappages and other waste
- To develop and manage one direct report
- In the medium-term opportunities would likely arise to broaden experience in other areas of finance, for example Commercial Finance, FP&A or Financial Reporting, as interest/opportunity dictates
- Employees at this level have previously been sponsored to complete certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Anaplan (Business Planning software) and for top performers, MBAs
What will you be doing?
- To perform month-end, quarterly and annual financial close for Supply Chain and Inventory, including production of relevant reports, posting of journals and creation of commentary/analysis of cost centre performance
- To provide robust, challenging analysis of Supply Chain cost base. To be able to analyse and interpret variances whilst driving improvements in partnership with respective department heads
- To build relationships and work with appropriate cross functional teams e.g. Raw Sugar Discharging, Raw Sugar Warehousing, Finished Goods Warehousing, Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management
- To support Supply Chain / Operational Teams to ensure that queries/issues are resolved efficiently and effectively
- To produce PowerPoint presentations (including quarterly ExCo reporting) which have coherent and powerful messages and to present these to senior executives, as necessary
- To be a subject matter expert in SAP inventory and supply chain data and be fully conversant with SAP data mining
- To own the end-to-end annual Supply Chain budgeting process and to deliver a fully reviewed, and signed off budget
- To manage and promote use of system reporting tools (e.g. Anaplan) and project manage improvements to them
- To organise and manage periodic physical inventory counts
- To deal with queries from our external auditors
- To own and improve all relating financial controls for responsible areas
What are we looking for?
3 years PQE+ in an Advisory role such as Transaction Services, Restructuring, Corporate Finance or relevant industry experience in Operational/Commercial Finance or FP&A- Commodities, FMCG or Food Manufacturing sector experience, with responsibility for Inventory and Supply Chain
- Chartered Accountancy or similar qualification and training with a major global accountancy or consultancy firm

Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:1)
- Technical background preferred (e.g. Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Maths
- Excellent business partnering skills, able to engage and influence cross functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of leading projects to reduce/eliminate waste and drive bottom line financial performance.
- Strong to advanced experience of SAP or similar accounting software
- Strong to advanced Excel skills
- Experience of collaborating with external auditors
