REPORTS TO: Manager, British and Irish Tour Operations
HOURS:
Full Time 40 hours per week working 8 hours per day within the following hours:
Between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00, Monday to Sunday, 1 April-31 October.
Between the hours of 07.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday, and 08.00 and 16.00,
1 November-31 March.
The role requires full flexibility including working alternative weekends. Working from home is possible on some days, but the position is primarily office based.
THE DEPARTMENT
The British and Irish Tour Operations department is responsible for the operation of more than 600 Globus and Cosmos tour departures throughout the year in all parts of Britain and Ireland.
THE ROLE
The role will support all functions within the department. This will include liaising with hotels, tour guides,
local hosts, clients and Globus Family of Brands offices overseas by telephone, email and in person. THE POSITION
· Liaising with tour guides, suppliers and any clients with on-tour issues.
· Document production for hotels, tour guides, local hosts and coach companies.
· Support in the booking and contracting of attraction suppliers for all Globus and Cosmos tour programmes.
· Maintenance of Irish Sea ferry bookings and passenger manifests.
· Liaising with local guides in Edinburgh and Belfast.
· Coordination of optional excursions.
· Handling of groups within tour departures.
· Problem solving.
· Maintaining a high level of product knowledge and participation in educational opportunities as required.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
· An ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
· A friendly, confident, polite and mature manner when dealing with people is essential.
· Ability to adopt a flexible, positive and collaborative attitude.
· Ability to learn on the job.
· Ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines.
· Able to build a rapport and maintain relationships with suppliers and co-workers.
· IT literate with ability to use in-house systems (after training) and be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and using the Internet.
· Previous experience in a travel organisation would be beneficial, but not essential.

Salary: From £28,000.00 per year
