At Sizewell B Power Station we have the exciting opportunity of recruiting a Day Operations Engineer into the Operations Department at Sizewell B Power Station. This position offers an excellent development opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of PWR Reactor Technology. Sizewell B will undergo significant investment in the coming years and joining us will mean being at the heart of improving the plant’s reliability and operability, underpinning many future years of successful low carbon Electricity Generation.

Pay, benefits and culture
We can offer a salary from £54,391 - £84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing
The Day Operations Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The management, supervision and delivery of specific plant testing, plant system outages and investment projects
- Performing plant investigations and testing in response to plant failure or degraded conditions
- Overseeing commissioning of new plant and equipment, including writing new procedures, supporting shift crew training and completing system handover to shift operations
- Preparation of performance data for company requirements and maintaining adequate records of plant operating results
- Developing and maintaining links with other groups on or off site, acting as the Operations technical advisor and single point of contact
- Supporting Day Operations organisation, including the Work Execution Centre, Safety Document Office and Outage functions
- Undertaking a senior role in the Refuelling Outage organisation.
Who you are
For this role you’ll need a minimum of an HNC (or equivalent) in a technical or engineering field, whilst knowledge of PWR Operations would be an advantage. You must be reliable and demonstrate a proactive approach to maintaining high operational and engineering standards, with a high level of self-motivation, safety management awareness and strong communication skills. You’ll need to demonstrate the attitude, commitment and flexibility to work with multiple teams across the station and with outside organisations, to deliver our business objectives safely and efficiently.
