Checkit
Full Time Remote 10.56 - 12.04 GBP Today
Job description

Among Checkit's core products are smart sensors that monitor things like temperature, water flow or air quality, and send alerts to our central hub if readings fall outside expected boundaries. This helps our customers to ensure that critical systems are working as expected, and to know quickly if something is wrong so they can fix it before it becomes a problem. We help the NHS keep things like blood products and vaccines at the correct temperature by monitoring their storage fridges, and we help food retailers to reduce waste by monitoring refrigerated display cabinets in their stores.

This role is key to successful customer installations and the ongoing optimal operation of Checkit sensors, systems and equipment. It is a mixed and varied role, working with remote wireless and Cloud based monitoring systems and IoT products. You’ll be responsible for installation, commissioning, calibration and maintenance within a defined geographical area. The role reports to the UK & EMEA Senior Operations Manager and works closely with colleagues within our Operations, IT and Stores teams, as well as dealing daily with our customers on their sites.

What you'll be doing

  • Installing, configuring, calibrating and repairing sensors, monitoring systems and equipment at customer sites across various industries including medical, pharmaceutical, laboratory, food retail, hospitality and facilities management.
  • Ensuring that all hardware is functioning correctly and that remote IP communications are operational.
  • Fault finding and rectifying faults found.
  • Ensuring that all work undertaken on site meets the requirements of the customer, maintaining accurate records, reporting and audit trails, and managing any additional customer requests.
  • Maintaining a complete set of stock spares, replenishing when required.
  • Undertaking all work in accordance with relevant procedures and training, adhering to documented standards of calibration and appropriate safety procedures at all times.
  • Taking part in training and development, and always being fully conversant with the function and operation of all relevant products, software and services.

What we're looking for

  • You will be a UKAS certified Calibration Engineer, or be willing to gain this qualification.
  • You’ll have a strong track record of installation, servicing, calibration and maintenance engineering within the technical precision equipment sector – we are flexible on exactly what products you have worked with.
  • Any experience of working with temperature sensing products would be ideal, though isn’t essential.
  • An interest in precision equipment, metrology or calibration is strongly preferred.
  • Experience of working with customers in the medical, pharmaceutical, laboratory, food retail, facilities management or hospitality sectors would be ideal, but again we are flexible.
  • Able to fault find and diagnose hardware or software problems, and undertake appropriate repairs.
  • Knowledge of relevant ISO15189 and ISO17025 standards as they apply to this role.
  • Able to learn new systems and adapt to new ways of working.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely in the field with a minimum of supervision.
  • Professional and customer-focused communication style, able to deliver exceptional service levels to customers as an ambassador of Checkit.
  • Able to pass a DBS Enhanced security check.
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home when required.
