Job Title: Data Centre Operations Engineer

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Salary: £50,000 per annum + bonus + package

Shifts: Day and night work, 4 days on 4 days off, 12-hour shifts

Our client, a world leading Co-location Solutions Provider, are currently looking to add an experienced Data Centre Operations Engineer to their growing data centre services team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company who are at the forefront of pioneering co-location solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for escalations from customers and incident management queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact point for customers, receiving and handling requests from the service desk
• Install and configure switches and routers (predominantly Cisco)
• Prioritise and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures
• Investigate causes of incidents and seeks resolution
• Conduct tests of hardware and/or software using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools

Required Technical Experience

• Sound knowledge of wide area networking and all associated protocols to perform testing
• Rack installation experience - routers, switches, servers
• Ability to conduct fault isolation and problem solving associated with WAN
• Good understanding of Microsoft and Linux products
• Data Centre experience
• CCNA, CompTIA A+ or Network+ certified (desirable)
