Rembrand Timber, part of the National Timber Group are looking to recruit an Operations/Counter Salesperson to join their busy, well-established branch in Newton Stewart.
The successful candidate will be a customer-focused, confident and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience in the timber/construction industry, however we are equally as interested in speaking to candidates who are potentially considering a career change and come with a can-do, collaborative mindset. Full training will be provided regardless.

Main Duties:
- Ensuring all customers receive the best experience when they visit our branch
- Hybrid role based on shifting business requirements
- Based in the main sales office dealing with customer queries/orders in person, on phone and email
- Processing orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Order picking and loading onto the appropriate vehicle
- Delivery and unloading of orders to customer address – we cover a fairly wide area and you will have the use of a small pick-up lorry (standard driving licence is covered)
- Checking and confirming complete orders with customers and noting any damage
- Working closely with other areas of the branch to ensure smooth end-to-end process from order request through to safe delivery to payment receipt
- Assisting with stock replenishment both in the main sales office and both yards as required
- Helping out with ongoing stock management initiatives – weekly, monthly and annually
- Receiving goods from external suppliers and checking against invoices to ensure we receive the correct amounts, undamaged and that they are all booked into the system
- Responsible for building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with customers via phone and in person
- Huge focus on Health & Safety in the workplace and so, you will be expected to understand and engage in all related initiatives to ensure we maintain a consistently safe working environment for everyone who crosses the threshold
Working hours, Benefits and Salary:
- Full time position, Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5.00pm; available to work every second Saturday 8:00am to 12.00pm (overtime will be paid for this)
