All About the Role
Based at our BES North, Rotherham site The purpose of this role is to provide full technical and administrative support to the operations on site. In this role you will ensure an accurate receipt of Goods into and out of the depot, confirming that Test Certification and material paperwork is correct, and material standard requirements are maintained. You will fully support the Operations Manager in the day to day running of the fast-paced high performing team.
Specific tasks could include:
- To ensure that operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in a manner which fully complies with Barrett Steel Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Group policies, and all relevant legislative requirements.
- Manage Incoming load list and ensure accurate and efficient receipt of incoming materials in accordance with the Goods Inwards schedule and procedure.
- Responsibility for flagging issues relating to Environmental, H&S and Business Improvement issues within the business/ site and addressing them with the Operations Manager.
- Liaising with operations staff on daily work plan.
- Fire management, racking assessments, spill kit inspections, bay inspections.
- Carry out technical reviews on sales orders.
- Create certification packs for outgoing materials.
- Inspection of outgoing materials.
- Problem solving, including customer and supplier issues.
- Control of customer rejections and credit notes along with quarantine and defective materials.
- Working closely with sales staff, shop floor and admin personnel.

Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or admin role is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn with a proactive attitude and approach.
- Excellent communication skills with good computer & numerical skills
- Experience using Microsoft packages & emails.
- Be self-motivated and capable of using own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Have a good working knowledge of the relevant aspects of H&S relating to the scope of work.
- Work in a structured and methodical, well-organised manner at all times.
Desirable Requirements
- Health & Safety Qualification, i.e., IOSH/NEBOSH.
- Previous Steel industry experience.
- Flexible working outlook, both office and warehouse tasks to undertake.
- ISO and Quality Management systems experience.
