Job description
About Doxa Partners
Doxa Partners manages a large family investment fund. We work in our townhouse office in Mayfair, London, and have for over 10 years. Our clients have been entrepreneurs for nearly two centuries, and are now in their sixth commercially successful generation.
We make wide ranging investments, including stocks, bonds, funds, private investments, and hedging derivatives. Our approach is empirical and structured (but flexible) and, increasingly, data driven.
We are able to sponsor successful candidates who require a Skilled Worker Visa (and hence a Bachelor's degree is a requirement).
All candidates must share Doxa's Ethos of Calculated Risk Taking, Continuous Learning and Camaraderie.
Operations Associate
Doxa’s Operations team empowers our Research team by building and managing a control and reporting system that is robust but flexible enough to adjust quickly to our investors' needs.
Our ever-improving proprietary Portfolio Management System "Okris", along with other bespoke software tools, has enabled us to automate nearly all transaction booking and build up a catalogue of data integrity tests and standard reports.
We seek an Operations Controller to exploit these tools to reliably produce accurate, timely, meaningful reports and safeguard the assets under our care.
The most important part of the role is our daily processes, which are critical because they enable the rest of Doxa to focus on managing the Funds with confidence that the data they rely on is accurate. These include:
- Ensuring data automatically fed into Okris is accurate and complete
- Reviewing the output of data integrity checks
- Reconciling positions and cash balances against data received from our Custodians
- Reviewing and sending daily flash reporting to our Investors
You will:
1. Learn and then reliably execute control processes:
- Primary responsibility for control processes:
- > Carefully and efficiently complete daily processes
- > Ensure weekly, monthly, and less frequent processes are done on schedule
- Be a link between Operations and the rest of Doxa:
- > Keep the team informed of data issues or new information discovered during daily processes
- > Responder to data questions
- > Action change requests e.g. re-allocate investments to different strategies
- Contribute to keeping instructions and guidance on Doxa's internal Wikipedia up to date
- Provide feedback to our Software team on how Okris improvements could make controls quicker and more efficient
2. Reliably produce accurate, timely, meaningful reports:
- Generate weekly performance reports for our Investors
- Issue strategy “Factsheets” with commentary
- Run ad-hoc reports when requested
Candidate requirements:
- Enjoys using routine and structure to produce consistent and high-quality outcomes
- Likes to work on a variety of tasks throughout the day
- Enjoys solving numerical puzzles
- Can describe what they do and why
- Knowledge of Fund Operations, Financial Instruments, or accounting is helpful but not required
Location: Based in our London office, with the option to work from home some of the time once settled.
Salary: £40k+ p.a. plus bonus.
If successful in our test, we will follow up with a short audio interview, case study, then a face-to-face interview.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From £40,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
