Job description
The Operations Assistant supports the Operations department in the operation, maintenance, resourcing, cleanliness, security and safety of the Whitechapel Gallery and its many functions, with a particular focus on maintenance and facilities.
This is an opportunity for an individual with experience of working in a public building, who possesses a range of technical, practical and problem-solving skills, who can communicate and thrive amongst a diverse workforce, and who is willing to learn and develop their skillset within an essential role.
Conditions of work
- Full time permanent position with flexible working hours depending on
current workloads and keyholding rota. This position may include work at
evenings and weekends. - Starting salary: £24,500 – £25,250 gross per annum
- Hours Of Work : Due to the nature of the job, occasional early morning,
evening and weekend work (including 07:30-15:45 and 11:15-19:30
shifts) will be required - The period of notice is 2 months in writing on either side
- Probation period: 6 months
