The Role
Trelonk Ltd. is seeking a self-motivated OPERATIONS ASSISTANT to join our team. This is a busy and very varied role which will require exceptional organisation and multitasking skills. You will be providing full operational support and cover including finance and IT to ensure the smooth running of departments on the estate, whilst also providing admin support to the leadership team in their day-to-day roles across our diverse businesses including:
Wild Cornwall https://wildcornwall.net/ is our farm-to-field catering company, a little tribe that begun its life at the Trelonk Estate, among the gorse and greenery of the Cornish Roseland. We were so inspired by the resources growing naturally all around, we formed to create our own fresh produce and gift ideas.
Farm – The supply chain to Wild Cornwall of foraged crops, together with a large amount of wheat and barley.
Estates - The functioning of the wider estate and looking after the various tenants and occupiers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide admin support as required to the leadership team.
- Provide month end support to the Finance Manager.
- Track and reconcile supplier accounts.
- Record supplier invoices.
- Set up supplier payments and weekly cashflows.
- Coordinating IT issues.
- Supporting the onboarding process for new starters (IT systems set up, updating records).
- Pack orders for online and wholesale orders and support with organising couriers when needed.
- Act as a point of contact for incoming enquiries / actions.
- Interacting with external stakeholders either on the phone or in person.
- Supporting the concierge service, ensuring a delightful and seamless arrival through to departure experience for guests at Trelonk.
- Keeping well-organised records of business activity. Liaising with the different teams across the estate regarding meetings and tours happening onsite.
- Supporting with maintaining records and support software packages used to sign staff and guests in/out.
About You
You will need to be methodical, accurate and have an eye for detail. Plus be adaptable and willing to learn. You should be highly organised and able to multi-task with ease. You will be dealing with colleagues, guests and suppliers so highly professional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
You should have an enthusiastic and energetic approach to your work, with an eagerness to learn and enjoy being part of a team
Essential Experience/Skills
- Previous experience working in an accounts role and knowledge of a finance function
- Strong IT skills, including advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
- Organised and good time management skills
- Attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors
Desirable Experience/skills
- Bookkeeping experience
- Previous experience of working with a finance package such as Sage, Aquilla or Quick books.
