The College
Oxford International College Brighton is an international day and boardin school opening in Ovingdean, Brighton in September 2023. For the right candidate, this is an exciting and highly rewarding opportunity to lead and develop a new College, shaping its academic trajectory within Nord Anglia’s world-class international network of schools. The College’s curriculum will be based on the proven success of Oxford International College’s three-pronged curriculum model which has led to outstanding academic outcomes; OIC Brighton intends to join OIC Oxford at the top of the UK league tables, preparing our leavers for the most competitive courses at the world’s best universities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the College’s opening phase and strategic direction, both in terms of increasing pupil numbers and developing a world-class curriculum.
Coordination and communication
- Monitoring project progress and creating a central project status sheet/file where all the developments and updates in all OICB departments are easily viewed and accessed.
- Communicate with department heads in making sure that the project sheet is regularly updated and is accurate at any given time
- Organise and coordinate school visits and inspections and make sure all staff involved in any of the visits are well-informed and well-prepared for them.
- Help coordinate and implement activities linked to the start up of the College such as developing links with local organisations
Administration and operations implementation
- Research and facilitate the College’s registration and application to related associations such as Society of Heads, AEGIS, etc.
- Connect with local doctors, sports facilities, transportation and airline companies that the College can use for its students, staff and stakeholders.
- Identify and ensure we meet regulations to be a visa sponsor and exam centre
- And any other coordination tasks associated to a start-up College
Experience
- Experience in operations/project coordination, preferably in school settings.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business administration, management or a related field (desirable)
Attributes
- Excellent IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft packages (Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel) proficiently.
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work effectively, taking ownership of tasks and ensuring these are completed to schedule and agreed standards.
- Excellent project management skills including experience in successfully supporting and delivering projects, meetings, events and ad-hoc pieces of work to firm deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to tailor communications depending on the audience.
- Good interpersonal and team-working skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external to the College.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt and respond to change, including a willingness to use and demonstrate own initiative.
- Appreciation and understanding of the context of international education, with sensitivity to the diverse needs of international students and their families.
- Flexibility and resilience, with a willingness to ‘get stuck in’ to the development of a new school and the demands of shaping and guiding the College in its infancy.
- A genuine commitment to the values and ethos of the College.
Role: Fixed Term Contract, 3 Months (initially). Could be part-time.
