Tradestock is one of the leading housewares suppliers in the UK, our retail focused, and design led client base covers a wide spectrum of customers including supermarkets, biggest national chain stores as well as independent retailers; we supply our own portfolio of branded as well as customer branded products.
We are currently recruiting for the pivotal role of Operations and Facilities Manager. Based in our Wellington office, you will be working closely with all departments across the business and be a central point of reference in the day to day running of, as well as contributing to, the forward planning and resourcing of the business.
To succeed in this role, experience of working in a similar customer-focussed environment, along with being commercial astute and always having an eye on corporate responsibilities is key. As our ideal Operations and Facilities Manager, you will be able to display a proven track record as an outstanding operations leader with energy, commitment, drive, adaptability, creativity, problem solving and decision-making capabilities. You must be able to implement and drive performance improvement and be great at building and developing teams.
Duties of the role will include:
- As the Operations Manager you will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to drive day to day performance ensuring quality and customer service are centre to requirements.
- Working as part of a cross functional team, communicating vital operational information to ensure that all teams understand the priorities for the day, week and month.
- Working to deadlines and to customer time constraints prioritising with organised and effective planning.
- Continually setting out best practice in operations management, reporting on key deliverables.
- Lead the teams collaboratively, working towards a shared goal, building a structure that facilitates growth and success.
- P&L budgetary responsibility including driving improvement programmes to cut direct and indirect costs including waste
- Create, agree, and implement strategy for the development of the operational success of the business
- Monitor and support delivery of KPI’s
- Accountable for operational and warehouse performance including ownership of outbound haulage and deliveries.
- Responsibility for physical stock (stock take and reporting) and availability planning.
- Drive the company’s approach to developing best in class delivery to their customers
- Support and work alongside the HR department
- Manage and develop company H&S responsibilities, maintain site fire, security , first aid and renewals (assets and contractors).
- Cover weekend or bank holiday management responsibilities where necessary (time given back in lieu).
The ideal candidate will be able to prove:
- Solid management experience, proven in an operational management position with good all-round interpersonal skills as well as strong leadership and people management skills.
- A proven track record of successfully managing both small and large-scale projects through to completion.
- Commercially astute with responsibility for budget centres
- Awareness of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and best practice with the ability to promote and develop company culture accordingly.
- Able to demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement and ability to drive and be involved in added value projects.
· Proven ability to plan, prioritise the key areas within operations having both a strategic and tactical approach.
· A knowledge of INCO terms and import/export operational experience would be highly desirable.
· Experience of managing company IT hardware and liaising with third party IT support partners (not essential)
