We are looking for an Operations and Administration Manager to join our Retail London Team.

The Floor Management Team ensure smooth day to day running of our shops in Tate Modern and Tate Britain. As Operations and Administration Manager, you will support the day-to-day work of the teams in London, including line management of Retail Assistants, motivating and empowering them to deliver exceptional customer experience. You will lead by example, by embodying Tate’s values and you will be and advocate for equality, inclusivity, and diversity.

You will work as part of a team to deliver our departmental goals through three key channels – people, customer, profit.

Your focus will be managing the day-to-day people administration of the retail team, insuring accuracy, and compliance with all procedures. You will have an eye for detail, be adept at organising and a natural communicator. You will be people focused, and you have a positive, creative, and flexible approach to work and problem solving. In addition to managing the administration of the department, you will also provide regular operational support to the retail London teams, acting as Retail Duty Manager and carrying out other operational tasks.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A commitment to self-development: you are curious, you pursue opportunities to learn, and you embrace feedback – you share your knowledge and use it to support your team
  • Passion for people: You excel at working with others, you have the proven ability to motivate, inspire, and empower others to deliver company goals and you proactively provide opportunities for others to learn and develop
  • Communications skills and collaboration skills: you regularly and successfully communicate and collaborate with your team, internal and external stakeholders
  • You are technically proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, you are a quick learner and able to pick up new systems and you can identify failures in current systems and implement positive changes
  • You will be an ambassador for the Tate brand, and a point of contact for both internal teams and visitors
  • A proactive and flexible approach, in an ever-changing environment you know the key to success is adaptability and a positive outlook
  • You share our commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive space for visitors and colleagues, and are able to support your colleagues to deliver on this commitment
  • You demonstrate our values and are open, bold, rigorous, and kind

About the Role:

  • As part of this role, you will spend time each week working towards a Level 3 Supervisor Apprenticeship Qualification, for which you will be provided with regular training and will complete a variety of assignments and assessments through our chosen provider Weir Training
