CAN is an energetic, specialist civil engineering contractor, working throughout the UK and abroad. We have a post available for an Operations Administrator, based at our head office on the northern edge of Chesterfield.
Responsibilities will include assisting Project Managers with day to day administration duties, including but not limited to:
- Procurement of transport for site deliveries
- Procurement of equipment, materials and hiring of plant
- Booking transport to and from sites
- Control of suppliers and sub-contractors, including liaison with suppliers to negotiate prices/discounts/rebates.
- Project administration
- Collation of QA files
- Ensuring stock supplies are maintained
- General administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of a busy operations department.
- Administration of waste transfer licenses and notes
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a busy office involved in many aspects of the construction industry. This role demands a person with drive and enthusiasm, prepared to work independently and capable of multi-tasking, whilst maintaining attention to detail. Order processing experience is desirable though full training will be provided in all job-specific fields.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following experience and expertise:
- 5 GCSE’s A-C grade, including Mathematics and English
- Excellent use of IT packages, including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Good communication skills
- Strong administration skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- It would be preferable to have previous experience in the Construction industry.
