Job description

The successful incumbent will provide clear and accurate communication between internal departments, suppliers, and customers which will ensure the efficient flow of product to satisfy changing customer requirements. Working with suppliers to ensure they perform to agreed performance levels and following up exceptions and queries in a timely manner. You will be working as part of a customer service driven team, therefore being precise, supportive and a good team player are key attributes.


About the Role

  • Working within our Operations department and reporting directly to the Distribution Manager
  • Working aligned to the other departments including Purchasing, Sales and the Warehouse
  • Chasing outstanding supplier deliveries
  • Co-ordinating Supplier Deliveries with Customer demand
  • Managing the efficient and effective use of Off Site storage locations
  • Maintaining the Daybook Ledger for any 3PL transactions to enable simple Invoice reconciliation
  • You will be vital to the ongoing communication throughout the progress of outbound and inbound routes and the Daily OTIF performance - into and out of the depot
  • Your role will include operating numerous reporting tools and providing accurate data to the business

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing improved administration procedures.
  • Collect, analyse, and distribute information/data.
  • Prioritise and coordinate workloads
  • Delivering the right advice in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Liaising between managers and drivers, as well as collaborating with other departments to optimize transportation services.
  • Working with customers /suppliers/drivers, planning routes and scheduling delivery times to ensure the smooth running of the operation
  • Handling customer queries and escalating serious complaints to management.
  • Complying to transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Provide general support to the day-to-day operations covering other areas of the department duties when required.
  • Assist with obtaining quotes and raising purchase orders
  • Complete customs declarations and any regulatory paperwork as required.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.

  • Computer literate (Strong Excel, Word & Email) & Numerical skill.
