This team ensure that we can safely transport and increasingly valuable commodity around our patch - sewage and sludge.
Whist most of our region's waste is cleaned and safely returned to the rivers, increasingly we're finding innovative green uses for it, such as farming and energy generation.
Fun fact, some of that sewage and sludge generates Severn Trent's own energy.

We’re excited to announce a new opportunity to join our team as an Operational Technician. You’ll be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a diverse range of equipment at our anaerobic digestion sites.
You’ll be carrying out tasks that involve physical interaction with sludge treatment processes, to ensure the plant is maintained at optimum to meet our cake compliance and generation matrix, whilst also protecting the environment.
The role is based at Wanlip - Leicester, all training will be provided, and you will be put through a BOAS accreditation to ensure the safe operation of the steam boilers.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
The key accountabilities of this role will include:
Undertaking onsite process sampling and laboratory analysis, making process alterations as necessary.
Analysing and optimising the sludge route to drive performance improvements throughout the whole process.
Processing data capture and involvement in the day to day first line maintenance of all assets (RCM).
Getting involved with the site energy efficiency and optimization plan to further benefit the business and environment.
Interacting with all aspects of major capital investment programs and aid in commissioning and delivery.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Apart from being a great fit for the team you’ll ideally have good knowledge of waste recycling treatment processes and procedures whilst also having experience dealing with customers and you’ll have strong IT skills.
You’ll be required to undertake standby duties on a rota basis, due to this a full UK driving license is essential.
