The role
The Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT) team ensure that facilities, systems and processes are all tried and tested before go live. The People Manager is a key role responsible for planning, coordinating and ensuring the delivery of training and familiarisation for staff working in the facilities delivered by the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme takes place at the right time.
You’ll be responsible for creating and developing the People, Training and Familiarisation strategies. You’ll lead the training needs analysis across contractors, airport staff, service partners, airlines, handling agents, emergency services and control authorities identifying how, when and what people need to operate in the new facilities safely and successfully from day 1 of operations. The role will be varied and you will be dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels across the airport.
What will make you successful in this role
We’re looking for someone with experience of successfully managing the development of training and familiarisation for major projects. You’ll have great stakeholder management skills and be able to lead and influence at all levels, and you’ll be an effective communicator with the ability to present clearly and confidently. Ideally you’ll have experience of developing training products and materials for a variety of different channels and you’ll have a good understanding of working with operational teams, but we are not expecting the successful candidate to have specialist knowledge of airport operations.
