Job Title: Operational Management Accountant

The Vacancy:
The company is changing the Executive reporting structures and as such there is a need to change the financial reporting structures within the company. At the same time the company intends to change the financial reporting tool that is used to report the company’s financial position.
An opportunity for a 6-month temporary position has been identified to assist members of the operational financial management team while this transition takes place.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
The role is to work with members of the operational finance team to complete work while they support the changes. The main responsibilities will be;
- Working with senior operational accountants to build and produce the annual recharge calculations for this year’s 3-year planning process for service towers to local contracts;
- Working with the Head of operational finance, documenting all financial cost transactions across the BPO area of the company and documenting what it is, when it is raised and what type of transaction it is and how is accounted for in the accounts;
- The day to day running of the HR & Payroll traded services area including but not limited to:-
- month end closing and reporting requirement
- financial support of any account development opportunities
- Working with operations on ensuring the service runs smoothly.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
The candidate should have at least post 3 years post qualification accounting experience.
Candidates will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
- Experience at working with senior managers level in a large multi-service organisation.
- Experience of advising local management teams on financial issues
- Previous exposure to business planning processes, systems and controls, performance management
- Experience at all forms for performance reporting at management level
- Experience in operating in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholder requirements.
- Experience in a services (preferably a BPO) organisation
- Previous experience of building complex financial recharge models
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge:
- Advanced Excel skills able to provide practical demonstration of complex modelling.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards General Ledger would be an advantage.
