In this management role, you will work along side the Technical Architecture Team, and be responsible for the performance and management of infrastructure server-systems and network teams.

You will be part of a multi discipline skilled Architecture and infrastructure team, who are responsible for ensuring both the new and the existing technology stacks/layers are managed, performant, secure and available.

A heavy emphasis for this role will be management and technology measurement, the monitoring and improving of process and industry standards working towards continued improved digital maturity, and improved reliability, security and availability of digital delivery systems.

Team management, ITIL and ITSM process, resource management, ability to react to a wide range of infrastructure issues, assist in the diagnostic elements, and report into both senior management and customer clients.

We manage four major locality hospitals at NSECH, North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country.   • You will engage with and provide service advice to the team/colleagues, and when required, the wider department including the Digital Services senior management team.
  • Reporting to the Head of Architecture, you will be joining a newly formed team that consists of Server, Network, Device and Telephony experts, who work collaboratively to assist the operational and implementation teams to progress projects, applications and improvements across the Trusts infrastructure.
  • Expert knowledge in IT department/digital service type operations is key, as you will be influential in the continuous service improvement plan/cycle for the digital foundation strategy and the wider clinical digital roadmaps.
  • Strong, proven team and people leadership skills is essential, and must be able to demonstrate direct line management as part of your previous experience. Monitor, manage, and support infrastructure teams for incident escalation, resolution and action is key.
  • Assessment, alignment and reporting on the infrastructure position against the 5 stages of ITIL and ITSM framework for performance and suggesting and making service improvements is part of the role.
  • Oversee and enforce the cloud first, WiFi first, IaaS/SaaS IT Trust mantra. Participate and lead, in design meetings for future, existing estate, and maturing technology practices and policy.
  • Problem and service management experience is key, as is the ability to run and control a CITI event when a Severity 1 issue is declared
  • Be part of steer groups and decision boards on the technology required for new and refurbishment capital build type projects, tailoring the network technology accordingly for enterprise class healthcare services.
