Job description
To help with the day to day running of the online retail business and donation station, taking responsibility for key product areas. Optimising sales, effective stock management and merchandising, managing and training volunteers and promoting the shops and the hospice.

· To have sound IT skills, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, experience of using a database to manage donor data and social media.
· Willing to work to a flexible rota that will include some Saturdays
Key Accountabilities
- Accountable for key product areas for online listing
- provide a high-quality retail service;
- to develop systems and working practices for the effective running of the online retail business in conjunction with the Online Team Lead;
- to be customer focused and drive sales;
- Operate a welcoming, happy and appreciative atmosphere for customers, donors and volunteers.
- To work closely with the Online Team Lead to ensure the online retail business meets sales targets;
- to ensure the online retail business is competing effectively with other online competitors;
- to ensure all volunteers maintain a high standard of customer care;
- to maximise the sales potential of new goods and donated goods
- to ensure maximum diversity of stock in the online retail business to increase sales.
- ensure only the best quality donated goods are selected for sale
- to operate and manage a consistent pricing policy to maximise profit from donated goods;
- to initiate local stock and sales promotions.
- to support the Online Team Lead in supervising and delegating work to the volunteers ensuring great performance;
- to provide adequate supervision and to provide training for online retail business volunteers;
- to recruit volunteers, including work experience students (in cooperation with the Retail Manager);
- to provide appropriate guidance and support to all volunteers;
- to actively listen to customers and volunteers;
- to encourage team work and be an ambassador for Cynthia Spencer;
- to engage volunteers in the communication loop with timely and effective information;
- to generate donations of stock;
- to ensure gift aid donations are maximised;
- to seek opportunities to maximise value from donated goods;
- to show real appreciation to donors for all donated goods at all times;
- to follow security procedures when handling donations.
- to ensure that Health and Safety and Trading Standards regulations are adhered to;
- to ensure that health and safety procedures are understood and implemented by volunteers;
- to maintain adequate security and safety of retail distribution unit, money, goods and personnel;
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £21,225.00 per year
