Headstart Academy, a Shenzhen-Glasgow based company, is actively seeking energetic and dedicated English teachers to join our dynamic team. With a focus on incorporating play-based learning into our bespoke curriculum, our teaching approach emphasises fun, enthusiasm, and positive reinforcement. You will be responsible for conducting online classes for children aged 4 to 12, covering a range of topics from beginner phonics to spelling and grammar.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years' recent experience in teaching English as an ESL subject to young learners within Mainland China.
- Possession of at least one accredited teaching qualification, such as TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or anything above the CELTA qualification.
- Proficient English speaker with a clear and easily understandable accent.
- Demonstrable knowledge of IT skills and competencies.
- Ability to independently design course materials and foster a warm, nurturing, and supportive learning environment for students.
- Capability to establish fundamental learning objectives for students and provide concise feedback on their learning outcomes.
- Flexibility in working hours during weekdays and willingness to take on weekend shifts if required.
- As a remote teacher, you must have access to a recent computer or laptop that can efficiently run the teaching platform, a stable internet connection, a quiet working space, and demonstrate patience while teaching.
Students and Teaching:
Classes can be conducted in either a one-on-one format or in small groups, typically comprising 2-3 students. Our students hail from diverse locations, not limited to Mainland China, and an increase in teaching hours largely depends on existing student and parent recommendations.
Lesson durations are as follows:
- 30-minute sessions for students aged 5-6 years old.
- 55-minute standard sessions for students aged 7 and above.
Teaching will take place in an online format, utilising the Classin platform for instruction. A variety of teaching materials are readily available to educators via the Classin cloud drive. Progress reports for learners are required after every 20 lessons, as opposed to following each individual lesson.
What we can offer
- Payment combined with basic rate and bonus.
- Basic rate starting from £16 for standard lessons and £10 for any 30 mins based short lessons.
- Bonus available for standard lessons and will be send out after every 20 lessons completed with detailed terms and conditions.
- Combined hourly rate for high performers will ranging between £22 - £30.
Selecting Process
1. CV selected by operating staff and conduct informal meeting via ZOOM to know each other;
2. A demo lesson to be arranged with existing student to evaluate teacher’s overall performance
3. Offer made to the successful candidate who performed best in the demo lesson.
