An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Morgan Stanley’s leading global oil and refined product trading business as an oil options trader. With interest in commodity markets as high as it has been in recent years, we are looking to hire an Associate-level candidate to join our dynamic London-based team as we seek to capitalize on opportunities in the oil markets going forward.

What will you be doing?
- You will be sourcing liquidity in the listed/OTC markets in crude oil and refined product options to respond to client requests – corporates and hedge funds.
- You will be pricing option structures and managing an options portfolio – using your knowledge of option pricing fundamentals and risk sensitivities (greeks).
- You will be working directly with and assisting the options book runner in day-to-day tasks including P&L reconciliation and reporting, position management and analysis of volatility surfaces.
- You will be working closely with the energy sales team as well as the wider commodity trading team to share views on oil options markets.
- You will maintain awareness of current market trends, macroeconomic data and oil fundamentals, and harness this information when developing trading strategies.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field of study.
- Experience with Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A highly quantitative candidate, with previous options trading experience a requirement (preferably within commodities) who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of options theory and commodity markets.
- Proven experience in successfully managing PnL/Risk
- A hard working and entrepreneurial candidate, capable of generating their own ideas and dealing with complex concepts.
- A good team player, comfortable in working in a high-pressure collaborative team environment.
Certified Persons Regulatory Requirements:
This role is deemed as a Certified role and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
