Job description
These roles are offshore based in the UK on a 3/3 rotation. Previous experience of working on a Modular Drilling Rig/Cyber Base will be preferential but not essential for the right candidate with relevant experience. Archer will consider further applications should the stated requirements not be met through the initial candidate search.
LOLER Focal Point main responsibilities:
- support to Archer Platform Drilling Operations regarding all Rigging and Lifting requirements, managing, and maintaining all rigging equipment.
- Referencing Client specific Lifting Procedures, Create LOP’s (Lifting Operations Plans), consulting with Archer Structural TA / Engineers where there is a requirement to utilise existing steel as a lift point ensuring any calculation are carried out and approval has been authorised / documented prior to use.
- Liaise with the clients incumbent LOLER AP/ Lifting Technical Authority and submit the created LOP’s for client review, approval and sign off.
- Oversee all rigging equipment installations and operation and ensure these are carried out in accordance with LOLER, Lift Plans and sound Rigging Practices.
- Maintain the rigging loft, set up a T card system for booking items of rigging equipment in and out of the rigging loft
- Maintain the lifting equipment register and flag up when the recertification is due on rigging equipment.
- Support with other duties when required including Roustabout/Deck duties.

- Must hold Valid specific LOLER Competence as per Archer and Client Requirements for LFP position, E.g., OPITO Approved LOLER Competent Person OR ECITB Appointed Person - OPITO Approved Rigging Assessment Stage 3/4 , ECITB NVQ L3 Moving Loads (Client Specific)
- VALID Loft Management Certificate
- Time served Rigger or sufficient experience in a Role as Rigger / LOLER Focal Point (3years)
- Must have proven offshore or Onshore experience in similar role
- Must be able to work safely within the client specific Permit to Work System
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Ability to coach and mentor others
