Job description

We're looking for an experienced and versatile office manager to join our support services team at the company’s central support offices in Kendal. This interesting, responsible, and varied role will include a wide range of duties, providing support to the wider business, as well as general office administration. You will also provide specific administrative support to our Health, Safety and Environment Manager and Head of Projects.

The role is predominantly office based, although there will be site visits on occasions. Working hours will be Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

About the Job

Key responsibilities will include:

General Administration

  • Providing a welcoming and effective reception service at the company’s Central Support Office in Kendal - meeting and greeting colleagues, customers, clients, and contractors in person and assisting with their enquiries.
  • Providing the first point of contact for incoming telephone and email enquiries which require professional, enthusiastic, and effective handling.
  • Fulfilling a range of general office administrative duties - maintaining a range of company registers and accounts; office diary organisation - facility booking, distribution of rotas; monitoring and ordering stationery and consumables; organising incoming/outgoing post.
  • Providing administrative support on occasions to senior managers or other departments

Other Key Support Areas

  • Providing specific and regular administrative support to the Health, Safety and Environment Manager - reviewing and updating records and registers, liaising with colleagues and scheduling meetings and site visits, attending site visits, taking basic meeting notes
  • Providing administrative support to the Head of Projects - diarising meetings, collating and submitting reports, preparing correspondence, assisting with submission of planning applications, making purchases and maintaining records.
  • Assisting the propery and lettings team with general admin and schedule updates

About you...

  • You'll be dynamic with a genuine passion for providing exceptional support and enjoy being a fundamental part of a small team.
  • You will be professional, enthusiastic, and proactive with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. You will be able to prioritise and manage your varied workload efficiently.
  • You'll have excellent communication skills and be proficient in all Microsoft Office software.
  • You will have the skills and ability to manage expectations efficiently, be flexible, focused, proactive, and self-motivated.
  • Some experience, or an interest, in Health & Safety administration would be beneficial, although not essential . An interest in environmental matters would also be an advantage.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: From £22,500 PA FTE depending on experience
