More about what we’re looking for

We are looking for a conscientious, reliable, polite, and friendly individual who has a particularly good eye for detail. We are a friendly, relaxed, small team who all share a love of producing top quality wedding stationery. You will be someone who is happy to chip in and help the members of our small team to produce top quality stationery for our customers. You will have excellent English skills as you will need to be able to spot errors. You will take pride in your work, be able to work to a very high standard, and understand that our customers expect an excellent service.

You will be someone who is tidy and organised and able to work efficiently to time constraints. Ideally you will also have an interest in art and crafts.

Where you’ll work

All office work is undertaken on 2 floor levels in our premises in Blackminster. There is no heavy lifting involved. All materials are provided and any training, outside the basic skills required, will be given.

Who are we?

We are a small family business of 2 with 3 additional self-employed individuals. We design and produce customised wedding stationery in the main and our emphasis is on quality and excellent customer service.

Pay

Pay will initially be at the national minimum wage whilst training in the first few weeks. After a month, pay will be the national living wage of £10.42 an hour, regardless of age. This is subject to review after 6 months and once you have proved that you are able to work unsupervised and to the high standards required. You will need to invoice us for hours worked. There may be the opportunity for a full work contract further down the line if you fit in exceptionally well and have skills that would benefit our business.

Work hours

We need someone who will fit in and provide valuable assistance on Mondays and Wednesdays initially, with a third day as needed and arranged on an ad hoc basis. We are flexible, and days and times can vary depending on workload and the change in work pattern due to bank holidays.

Application:

If you would like to apply for this position, you must be able to answer the following questions with Yes, write a personal letter of application, and include a CV. Any applicants not answering the questions or not bothering to write to us personally, will be automatically rejected.

If you can answer the following questions with Yes, please feel free to apply for the position.

Questions:

- Can you confirm that you have your own transport to get to and from work?

- Can you confirm that you will be able to invoice us for hours worked on a self-employed basis?

Interview:

If your application is being considered, you will be invited to an interview on Zoom where we will have a chance to introduce ourselves face to face and ask any questions.

After a successful interview, you will be invited to spend a trial day with us on your own time where you are welcome to come in and watch us and see what a day with us looks like. It will give you a chance to see the working environment, meet the team, and decide whether or not the position is something you would love. It’s important that we all work well together as we are a small, family-run business and we are looking for someone on a long-term basis who genuinely wants to develop and grow with us and become a valued member of our team.
