Office Assistant (Part-time) Dorchester, South West England, England
Job description
We are a busy family run skip company based in Piddlehinton, Dorchester. We operate skip hire across Dorset and the surrounding areas, whilst also running out own waste transfer station and weighbridge.
We are looking for an office assistant to help with the day to day admin tasks including dealing with customers over the phone and via email to book in delivery and collection of their skips including taking payments and deal with any enquires, dealing with customers face to face who come to use our on-site weighbridge to dispose of waste, general filing and record maintenance relating to both the yard and the fleet of vehicles, data entry and many other adhoc admin tasks.
As a fully functioning site with operating machinery you will be required to wear appropriate PPE including safety boots and high vis jacket / T-shirt.
As a family run company the role requires someone who is willing to pitch in and help with various admin tasks as they arise with the possibility of some basic domestic tasks (keeping office tidy, washing up etc) You will be fully supported in the role almost never working alone.
Part time position - Monday to Friday - Shifts between 8am - 4pm
Skills/Experience:
- Must have excellent customer service skills with a polite and professional telephone manner
- An ability to respond to emails in a friendly manner
- Recent experience within a similar Customer Service role is desirable
- Must be very organised, motivated and able to able to work on your own initiative
- Good Computer skills – including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
- Own transport due to location
Experience working within the waste industry an advantage but not essential at all.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: £9.50-£10.00 per hour
