Job description
We are looking for someone who is available to work full time in our onsite office within the bakery.
No two days are ever the same and you will be expected to do a wide variety of tasks, both office admin and operational in nature. We are not a traditional office setting and your time will be split between inside the office and out in the bakery/dispatch areas carrying out various tasks.
We operate Monday-Saturday, 6 days a week. The flexibility to be able to cover the occasional Saturday for holidays/sickness, once fully trained, would be beneficial. This is a full time role from 8am-2:30/3pm Mon-Friday.
Key duties and responsibilities of the role:
· You will start the day answering phones and dealing with customer enquiries and complaints. For this, you must have an excellent telephone manner, be comfortable handling incoming and outgoing calls and able to deal with complaints in a professional and friendly manner with a view to resolving the issues as quickly as possible.
· You will be trained on using the ordering system used within the business, however competency with Excel, Outlook and Word are essential and the adaptability to learn new systems would be of benefit.
· Within your role, you will also be expected to order stock for all areas of the business, as well as checking the delivery of these orders when they come in. On the operational side, you will be expected to partially break down the Goods In deliveries to record BBE and Batch codes to allow the bakery full traceability on food stuffs coming in.
· You will also be expected to take and record temperatures each day, plus a number of smaller operational tasks once you are comfortable within the business. These will include sharp counts, stock takes, stock rotation.
· We also have a number of ongoing projects within the business, that you would have the opportunity to work on, once you are settled and comfortable in the business.
· Full training in our systems, practices and Food Safety will be provided.
Essential Criteria / Desirable Criteria:
Essential:
· We need someone who is flexible to work as part of a small team, but still able to manage their own workload and be comfortable to work on their own, when necessary.
· We can be very busy, so the confidence to ask questions and speak up when you don’t understand something is also essential. Clear communication is essential in the bakery.
· For the role, you will need a high level of accuracy across all of your tasks and the ability to multitask efficiently.
· You will be the forward-facing member of the team for receiving deliveries, enquiries, and retail customers, so a friendly presentable appearance is essential.
Desirable:
· An interest in social media and Marketing would be beneficial, as we are currently developing out online presence.
· Familiarity with the wholesale food industry would be of benefit but is not essential as training will be given.
· Bavarian Bakehouse is a niche bakery offering the wholesale supply of traditionally made artisan bread, cakes and patisserie products using our own unique sourdough and traditional European baking methods. We pride ourselves on a high level of customers service and are currently expanding.
